Weave a Rag Rug

Rag rugs were a thrifty way to re-purpose old worn cloth, particularly wool trousers, shirts or jackets. First appearing in prestigious manors and estates, eventually the status of wealth trickled down to the well-off country merchant and farmer.

Today, the ideology of no-waste leads us to the age old rag rug once again! This is particularly thrifty for the quilter with odds and ends of cottons left over from a quilt project. But, this isn't just for the quilter! If you have old worn out bedsheets, a tablecloth with too many stains or some cotton fabric you purchased to make that awesome summer
dress ..... 20 years ago - then you can make a rag rug, too!

Workshop is limited to 4 weavers. Participants will be using pre-dressed floor looms. Weft materials can be provided; however, are encouraged to bring their own cottons.
