Hit & Miss you say??? Yes!! Rag rugs, back in the day, were woven using rags from clothes or bedlinens that were no longer usable in the fashion they were designed for. Instead, homesteaders wove the odds and sods into rag rugs. Hit and miss since they colours were random.
Today, weavers can mix and match with a variety of cottons available commercially. Many times, the rugs I have woven use bedsheets.... a great way to upcycle!!
Check out the additional photo to see the actual pieces of cloth used to create this rag rug.
